With TheOmegaDork and TheTurtleDork sitting this episode out, it's MouthDork and Disco holding it down this week. This Week In Dork MouthDork talks Batman Earth One, and Planet Hulk's Secret War tie-in. MouthDork also discusses the thought-provoking and sad documentary: Dear Zachary. Disco discusses seeing Mad Max Fury Road for the 7th time. Somewhere in between those screenings, Disco found time to see the Ed Harris, Ethan Hawk Shakespeare adaptation of Cymbaline. MouthDork and Disco get to discuss Slow West as Disco sees it for the first time and MouthDork sees it for the second time. In honor of Memorial Day, this week is a Fistful of Soldiers. Afterwards Disco reviews his homework assignment Roger Corman's Vincent Price starrer The Masque of the Red Death. Last but not least, we Mingle On Social Media before wrapping up. Please leave a review and or comment. And as always, thank you for listening!
(Due to unknown technical difficulties there is an uneven audio quality in this episode. I'd like to apologize in advance. Please know that I'm working diligently to figure out the cause of this issue to prevent it from occuring in future episodes. As always, thank you for listening. ~ Disco)
This week TheTurtleDork talks Unbroken, the Mad Max Trilogy(of which he only watched the first two, much to the dismay of TheDiscoDork). TheOmegaDork discusses some Lovecraftian Sci-fi literature: Space Eldritch. Speaking of literature, MouthDork loves all over Clive Barker's return in The Scarlet Gospels. He aslo gushes over Michael Fassbender's new western Slow West. Disco sadly finds out that John Woo's The Killer didn't age too well and Salma Hayek's recent action flick Everly is kinda all over the place.
This week TheOmegaDork chooses a Fistful of Apocalypse and TheDiscoDork seeks to find an actual Sorceress this time in his homework: The Warrior and the Sorceress. Afterwards we Mingle On Social Media before we wrap up. Please leave a comment or review. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, and as always, thank you for listening!
For this episode of Remember The Alamo, we discuss John Carpenters classic Escape From New York. We take a look at arguably one of films most iconic and TRUE anti-heroes- Snake Plisskin as played by the equally badass Kurt Russell. In addition to discussing the film, the dorks fantasize about their dream casting for their own personal remake of the cult film. After you listen, please leave a review or comment. And as always, thank you for listening!
Hey everyone, thanks for joining us! This Week in Dork TheOmegaDork professes his love for Age of Ultron! Not really. Not hardly in fact. He also reviews a table top RPG book Eldritch Skies. MouthDork chimes in on the Arnold Schwarzenegger zombie drama: Maggie. On the comic book side you best believe he's got a bit of Secret Wars Issue 1 love to give. TheDiscoDork bails on Maggie 20mins in for Brenton Thwates'(The Signal) crime drama: Son of a Gun. Disco also decides to not review his advanced screening of Mad Max Fury Road, as he chooses to wait until his fellow dorks are able to see it(or does he?). Speaking of Fury Road, this weeks' Fistful is a Fistful of Road Warriors. Disco also reviews last weeks home work assignment Sorceress. We of course Mingle On Social Media before wrapping up. Please leave a review and rate us. And as always, thank you for listening!
Hold on to your butts ladies and gents! Last week at the Alamo Drafthouse, The Secret Society Of Film Masons screened the 1981 oddity ROAR! In what will probably go down as one of the best screening experiences of all time, MouthDork and TheDiscoDork had their minds blown Cronenberg Scanners style all over auditorium 4. This episode sees us trying to rationalize and make sense of the madness that is ROAR. While you'll have to wait until October of this year to watch the film on DVD/Blu-ray, you don't have to wait to listen to your favorite dorks discuss this extremely one-of-a-kind film! Please rate, and review us, and leave a comment. And as always, thank you for listening!
We've got TheTurtleDork sub'n in for TheOmegaDork this week. And this week was an awesome time to be a dork. May The 4th brought about the annual Star Wars Day celebration and with that we got a lot of news regarding The Force Awakens which we discuss in our Week In Dork. DC released a ton of photos for Batman V Superman as well as a look at the Suicide Squad in costume, which we also discuss in our Week In Dork. TheTurtleDork talks his homework assignment Rififi and MouthDork lands a new gig?! This week sees our Fistful of REvengers. And speaking of which, after 3 years of waiting, The Avengers Age Of Ultron was released upon us. And you KNOW we saw it (multiple times) and you KNOW we discuss! So join us! Don't forget to rate and leave a review. And as always thank you for listening!
